Basic Core Trainings
To complete your VSP certification, all new Basic VSPs must complete a 15-hour Basic Core training within their first year of employment.
Basic Core trainings are hosted all year long across the state by different organizations.

You must already have a VSP number to register for a Basic Core training. To apply for a VSP number, click .
Please note, VSPs who are employed with a children's advocacy center or a solicitor's office will receive their Basic Core training through an internal training process. If you are a VSP who specializes in human trafficking, your Basic Core training will be arranged by the SC Human Trafficking Taskforce.

Registration听for听SCCADVASA's Second Training Session 2025听will open on听April 21st, 2025. This training will begin on May 20th, 2025 and end on August 5th, 2025.
Registration听for听SCCADVASA's Third Training Session 2025 will open on August 11th, 2025. This training will begin on September 9th, 2025 and end on November 18th, 2025.

CVST, in coordination with the Department of Crime Victim Compensation, hosts a Basic Core training every year in October. This page will be updated with more information about this training once it becomes available.听
Every year in December, the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office and the SC Victim Assistance Network co-sponsor a Basic Core training in Orangeburg. This page will be updated with more information about this training once it becomes available.听
